Weekly Update!

We had a fantastic week! We started our unit on the City of Richmond, and we can't wait to take the city bus tour next Wednesday, November 13th. Click here for more information about this field trip. We watched some great videos and the girls were given information about a month-long project, which they will do at home. Your daughter has been given a large Ziploc baggy filled with everything she will need to complete the project. If there is a choice involved, the label will include a place to write the name of the location your daughter chose to photograph. She only needs to visit 8 locations (these are specified by the teachers) and one extra location of her own choosing. The label that says "Transportation Terminal" refers to any airport, railroad, bus station etc. See below for a drawing of how the cards should look.
In math, the girls worked hard reviewing for the test. I will send these home in your daughter's packet of papers on Monday. Also, I would like the girls to focus on Xtramath more in the upcoming weeks, so there may not be a choice between completing a worksheet and doing Xtramath.

We finished our class digital book for the Global Read Aloud Program. We read a trickster tale called Just a Minute" by Yuyi Morales. It was a story about how a grandmother prepares for her birthday. The girls narrated hand-drawn pictures of how they celebrate their own birthdays. Click here to see the finished product. It turned out really great!
